Periodontics is covered in III BDS and IV BDS Part I according to present BDS curriculum. The theory topics are covered through lecture classes, one in third year, and two in final year.  During clinical postings, regular discussions and seminars are held for the students and interns including power point presentations. Apart from fulfilling the regular clinical work requirements, students are also provided opportunities to observe and assist advanced surgical procedures.

The three-year MDS Program in Periodontology is also offered by our department with an annual intake capacity of three started in 2011. The post-graduate students get ample opportunity to perform all the advanced periodontal procedures during their MDS program.
